Amongst them, one which is ancient sustaining since the beginning of 17th century i.e. from 1610 is the tradition of Vaidya Lavgankar tradition where Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment is done only through the darshan and sparshan pariksha (nadi pariksha i.e. pulse examination) .

Vaidyaraj Purushottamji Nanal who established Tilak Ayurveda College and made great achievements in the field of education and Vaidyaraj Ganesh Shastri Joshi, founder of the businesses of making shastrokta ayurvedic medicine by setting up a Pharmacy called Ayurvediya Aushadhi Bhandar in 1930 ; these both were a one of those students from the Lavgankar tradition.
They received their inspiration from the great Vaidyaraj Balshastri Lavgankar.
